GM Kit Not Recommended for Self Install
It seems like my gas mileage, if anything, might have IMPROVED just a bit. Time will tell on that point but the increased torque is sure worth the outlay of $$.
You need to keep in mind that this kit install does not effect warranty coverage, if these kits were installed by everyone with a crimping tool, it might be hard for GM to allow this continued coverage. Besides, when you call Techline to get the calibration enabled, you need to supply them with your authorization number from the kit, your REPAIR ORDER number and your GM DEALER CODE. It's a matter of documentation, they (Techline) tab your VIN number with this calibration so that many miles down the road if your car needs to be recalibrated for any reason.....you will have the "kit" calibration available right there in the computer, no matter what dealer is working on the car.
All dealerships are independant businesses, the actual labor charge on something like this is arbitrary and set by each store. Our dealership charges $294 labor....forget "hours", that is an archaic time allotment that should be totally discarded in my opinion.

Got mine installed today at Rydell Chevy in Van Nuy, CA install time was 2 hours. When the sevice advisor came to tell me it was ready he said the tech was amazed with the power.
Thanks Bill for the info on where to go.
