Woohoo my payment was processed today by CED, hopefully it'll be in my hands shortly and in my car shortly after that.

Angry OUCH... CAN$1150.55 for the stage 1 kit

Went to the dealer today with the Stage 1 part number, and was quoted $1150.55 Can for the kit. Even with the high exchange rate U.S/Can, I think it's way over the top.

I think i will order the kit directly from Crate engine depot. This way, I will save enough money on the kit, to pay for the install.

Or look in the Classifieds forum for someone who has one for sale

That's not working currently. Any other location for it?

Alternate source

In case you need an alternate source for the kit. I got mine from Fred Beans GMC in Limerick, PA. Eric there said he would sell others for the same 15% discount. I paid 552.50 delivered to my door in Seattle.

The kit is in and the improvement exceeds my expectations.

Been reading this forum for just shy of a year after the wife got a 2006 HHR 2LT. Great group of people with good information! Done a few mods to the wifes. Waiting for summer to install her running boards. When we gave my daughter my beloved 93 Lincolon Mark IIIV we had to find another ride for me. After the smile the Lincoln brought to my face when I stomped the pedal I wanted that same smile with the replacement car. The 2006 2LT did not do that but I did like the styling. You love it or hate it! We shopped around for awhile, then I drove a HHR SS. The smile was back! Bought a used 2008 Red SS auto trans with 9k miles for about $19k with a 5 year bumber to bumber extened warranty. After reading the other members comment regarding the turbo upgrade I knew I had to get one on my SS. Actually I negotiated with the dealer for employee pricing on the turbo upgrade kit before I bought it the car. $456 for the kit landed in my hand! Funny thing, the dealer would not installed except at his sister dealer 60 miles away. I called another local dealer and they had a corvett tech that would install for $180. Just picked her up today and really noticed the throttle is much more responsive. Turbo kicks in much sooner. Have not had a chance to push her but am very happy with the whole package. Not quite the pull of the 4.6 V8 in the Lincoln but the peak horsepower is the same with 2.6 fewer liters!

So are the newest version of the kits (I assume, up in Canada, CED is the best value $ wise) that ship, have the most updated/correct instructions, or would there need to be additional materials from this forum presented to a likely rookie installer?

My kit was installed April 1st by a 'rookie'.
He had the updated install instructions that came with the kit and did a fine job with no supplemental information.
I had the same concern. Sometimes the unknown builds excitement.
Be brave and good luck!

I think Bill said that the kits were updated to assure a smooth install. Whether an old version is shipped is another question. IMHO.
