How does this upgrade affect fuel economy. I know that is not a major concern for most but as a daily driver at 80 cents a leter for regular.....

I'm not sure if I'm coming yet, but maybe.

I wish I had the money to order already. Gotta pay for the intercooler first. Are you sleeping in the doghouse tonight? LOL at your girl finding out about your newest toy on the forums.

Are you back in town yet? Is the DP done?

whats the install cost?

I believe the dealer would have to install it for the warranty to be valid?

Lets say I do the work myself, will I beable to drive to the dealership to have them update the ECU or whatever the dealership needs to do?

(If the dealership agrees to that)

You'll throw codes on the way and will likely end up in limp mode since the NEW sensors won't be working within the same parameters as the OLD OS.

Matt-
From this, I'd say no. Cost to install would be "up to each dealer" probably.

One of the other GM Engineers, Steve Padilla, (his Solstice was the guinea pig for the first out of box install) indicates he's seeing increased mileage on his DIC, and has indicated it's probably due to the much-optimized torque curve on the new tune... since it takes less pedal to get the car moving.

Lots of review information from Steve here--

In the DFW area most dealers charge 1.0 hour to just re-program. So I don't think you will find many to install the sensors and program for that price. But you may be able to in your area. Also on 2008 and up you can no longer do remote programming. Which means you can't have a tech load the program into a Tech II and bring it to your house. '08 and up are either direct programming or require the use of a MDI which is the Tech II replacement.
