Its hard to see in the pic , You can just catch the silver aluminum tape on the outside of the box.

I assume you're talking about the left front corner??? What is included with the SS CAI? Is it just a tube that runs from the airbox to the wheelwell area? I just assume when a company sells a CAI it is actually in an area where it can draw cooler air...the filter sitting on top of the valve cover like some intake setups is NOT what I'm looking for.

There is no stock CAI on an SS , It draws dead air from a dead zone.
There are no openings in the wheel well for any fresh air. In 2 of the pics , the camera is in the hole of the wheelwell. While moving, the heated air from the engine is moving well behind the uncovered air box and filter.

Good luck finding cold air in or around that fender. Some members are geting cold air threw one of the fog light holes, Thats cold air.

But krh0003 has order HPT so he wont have to worry about any MAF codes, disable the code and tune the fuel trims. I'm just worried how the fuel trims look, they might be hard to tune in properly, i know cobalts have some probs with different intakes.

Yeah, I guess I'll have to see once I get into it. I have no problem making something for it I just thought that by now a manufacturer would have jumped on this. I would think there would be a demand for them considering there isn't anyone that makes them.

Hmmmm....wonder if there's enough room for an OTRCAI????? that would be nice.

I know someone had fabbed up an OTRRAI which used the stock airbox. There's a writeup about it somewhere on here but the OP is on another forum (can't recall which ATM). I know he had cut another hole in the airbox on the opposite side and plumbed some tubing to it with the opening sitting on top of the radiator in front, right behind the grille. That way it drew in fresh air from right behind the front grille.

Yeah, I was checking it out the other night and theres definetly enough room to do something there. I'm probably gonna notch an area of the upper rad support just below the spot welds so it won't interfere with anything structure wise. Probably make something up that will funnel down to 2 1/2 or 3 inch tubing and run it into the airbox...
