Dr. Loch thanks for the information on top end cut out control on that HHR. I topped out a friends Chevrolet Tahoe once, "of course" not on public highways and it was my first encounter with that type of limiting device that pulsed the fuel pump or at least it felt that way.

Dbeluscak, of course that information is from the manual, no one on this forum would ever drive over the speed limit and I'm sure all agree on that.....

Thanks for that comment to DrLoch that I got a laugh out of when I read it!

IN GENERAL INFORMATION, someone is selling an HHR SS on the Houston Craig's List that has a lot of modifications. This car was for sale from a dealer around January or so of this year and for around 9 thousand dollars it finally sold to someone, probably the owner now selling it again but take a look at it for the engine modifications and see if any information is valuable to the guys talking about modifications and fifth injectors etc.. I would post the link but I don't think I am allowed to..

Just an FYI on the speed limiter or torque control as it were.... I'm only guessing here but I believe they dropping cylinders by dropping the spark not the fueling. If you've ever seen a 5 speed do a slow no lift shift you'll see, or is that hear what I'm talking about. Sounds like the 4th of July.

DrLoch, that might be the case, in the HHR's, the Tahoe just jerked like a clogged fuel filter might or even a bad plug or wire but nothing loud and at that speed in something that would have probably flipped in a cross wind that was good enough to prove it could be topped out. Aside from aircraft and a Ford Pantera I've never been to the 150's on the ground in my life and might keep it that way since the HHR has no roll cage and seems it also would be susceptible to crosswinds as well UNLESS some day in Texas the wind stops blowing but a native Texan once told me if that ever happened all the buildings and people would fall over, yes it has been blowing that long....
