Infamous Wastegate Actuator **PICS**

Just got my car back after 2 1/2 weeks. originally had a P0229 then 3 weeks ago had a P0101 and P0106 pop up.

after 1 dealer told me they replaced it, but didn't. I went to a new dealer.

short story...GM ended up replacing the whole turbo, because as we all know by now the little plastic b*****d is on perpetual back order.

saw the boost hit 26 on the way home, spooling up much quicker. I hate the cliche.... but it feels like a whole different car.

you can see it was cracked on the inner side.
tech ripped it off the rest of the way

after reading about the issues with the turbo I'm beginning to think the 2.4 isn't such a bad little engine.. rhetorical question...Why would GM use a plastic piece to save a few dimes when a metal unit would be much better....

GM Closed the family dealer ship last year. My grandfather and uncle had a Buick Pontiac GMC Cadillac dealership in DE. GM took caddy (started the family dealership with Cadillac almost 90 years ago...) then Pontiac went away. they offered to let him keep Buick and GMC IF he rebuilt the shop...on new land.... I vowed never to buy another NEW GM car again...Hope I can stick to my guns...
