Anyone just running their airbox without a cover on it? Doesn't seem to serve much of a purpose than insulating the noise from the intake. And that small snorkel coming from the fender can't be supplying fresh air that efficiently. Thoughts?

I was just thinking about that today but haven't tried it. I'm guessing that the added air flow would be offset by the warmer air coming from the engine compartment. ??

I was running mine without the lid and every once in awhile it would set a cel. I forget the number but it was always the mass air flow code, so I put it back on and just added spacers to raise the lid. I know these cars can be very touchy with there sensors.

Without that cold air inlet or lid, you will be sucking in hot air from the engine compartment. This will reduce power far more that any restriction in the plumbing.
