Its already been posted about MPG...it was explained theres no difference, to an increase in MPG..its was stated its all up to the driver HOW he controls those functions..whats so hard to understand?

Don't have a cow you guys. The OP seemed concerned about the mpg effect the Stage 1 kit would have, and I took advantage of it to express my reservations about the kit, the stock power of my new car, and mpg. It wasn't intended as a slam against the kit. I'll likely get used to the power in a few months, then drag my arse down to the dealer for a Stage 1 myself.

And I didn't 'slam' it. I said the impression I had from other members was that the kit made mpg-driving a touchier prospect, which may not be for everyone. It's called a Devil's Advocate point of view. It wasn't intended to be an absolute, or super-serious. I spend a lot of time debating on political blogs. My style may not have transferred here well. As far as I'm concerned, everybody should do whatever they want to their little wagons...as long as they floor it now and then. It aint a Prius!

Great numbers millerrdjr! I can't believe you track that on a speadsheet! I too have seen about a 1-2 mpg increase i'd say, but my numbers are more off the cuff and informal. It is certaily more tempting to get your foot into the thing though as many have already said!
I have a series III 3800 SC and I used to think it was great till I got a 3.6 DOHC V6. It is about as fast and get about the same mileage but is so quiet and smooth. It makes the 3800 feel like a tractor engine. In the Bu it gets 31 highway. With the GTP I can tell what gear I am in with the engine sound using the padal shifters but the Bu I have to look with the six speed and paddle shifters. I think I am in second or third but look and I will already be in fourth. It is that smooth.

I've had my upgrade long enough to get some mileage figures and there is one run the wife and I take often. Before the upgrade I would get right at 30MPG and three times now with the upgrade I've gotten 31.5 to 32. So there might be a bump there.

Lot of things can affect the mileage but I've driven it pretty much the same each time ( don't go crazy and stay between 65 and 70) and before was consistent and after appears to be consistent. On this drive you are climbing from 1000 ft elevation to 7300 ft (over Donner and back down into Lake Tahoe) and back. I think GMPD's point about getting up to speed faster is probably the reason for the bump. When you have to slow and then come back up to speed, it happens much faster with little pedal. On flat ground I don't expect to see quite the same bump if any.

Anywho, good enough for me.

MPG went up for the most part.
28+ over the Winter and 30-32 in the summer being conservative.
I've been getting into the skinny pedal this tank so it's at 26 MPG but I'm smiling more.

I like to be the first off the line a lot of times and I am averaging 26.3 without resetting the AVG in probably 6 months. I am sure I could be doing better but MPG is not my goal.
