You may be ok but the shims are the recommended GM way to go.

Sorry I should have clarified it was at the crash bar. I thought when I said the bumper cover had to come off you knew what I was thinking LOL!

Yes this is a must kit for all automatics.

You think you have issues in the rain just try it in the snow LOL!

With a little brine on the roads here that leave a little powder on the interstates when it is dry it will spin the tires and kick in the traction control at 55 MPH.

I do have concern on the brackets on holding the tube or long term as if it is in the wrong place it can fracture the tube.

Yes GM should have picked a better map. These are from a Alfa Romeo. Like I said they had to do this cheap or it would have never made it to the dealers.

GM I heard is working on new kits like this for other 2.0 Turbo cars. I assume they are like the ATS and Malibu etc. Imagine a Bu with 300 HP or more. With the 6 speeds they may get more power as the 4 speed Autos and 5 speed man trans axles are at the real safe limit. Go beyond 320 FT LBS and you will in time break the tranny if you use and abuse it.

I'm loving it more and more . As WOT/boost goes, it looks like 0-30mph, 60mph seem to be the sweet spots to get the max downshift/23 lbs of boost when hitting Wot with the way this auto trans is geared and programmed. I can definitely see where there is still room to improve even more with an aftermarket tune. BUT this is awesome. It just wants to run. You get to 80 or 100 before you blink. My fiancé is in love with it lol. She hit the gas and her face lit up. She broke it out to 120 on the freeway with ease. This is just smooth steady strong power. Definitely can embarrass some other drivers that will expect to blow by the bread truck lol

Update... Couple weeks in and just had the car up on a rack. No signs of contact damage to the lower TMAP wires and the lower charge pipe is still pushed all the way on the IC. I still may have them move the IC forward next time I'm in the dealer for any repairs but for now just pushing the lower pipe on all the way seems to be working.

It's always nice to have a dealer you can trust to get the job done right. The only reason I still own gm vehicles is because of my dealer. Glad to hear you like the GMTU. Def wakes up the auto.

Well I have an update... After a few more weeks I got under the car today and notice some rubbing on the wires. No touching going on when still but there's obvious markings. So, no more launch control or hard flooring at 30 or 60 until I have the dealer remove the bumper and move the IC forward just to be safe.

How many washers? Anyone have pics of the IC/bracket in the new position and the washers? I don't have the tools or space to do this where I live right now. Besides, the dealer did the install, will take care of and be responsible for it since I'm under warranty and I know the bumper clips break easy. If more break I want it to be their fault.

Went back to dealer and he put 3 washers on each bracket to move the IC FWD. Of course you can't fit a 2x4 in between but there is more clearance. Hopefully this is the end of it. I don't want the extra vibration or noise from a solid motor mount. I'm balancing performance and daily driver comfort.

You will never have any traction, should have left it stock if you aren't going to use the extra power....
