Should I be OK running the stock bpv til I can order a Forge since the kit was designed by GM? I know some have had issues but it seems that most are getting good performance increases with the stage 1 and stock valve just that Forge holds a little better. This pretty much it? Kit came in today. Install tomorrow

You should be ok. If it's one thing I learned about these cars is that they are all a littel different. Some mods will work better than others these HHRs can be picky sometimes. Just drive it, if you see that all is well then I say stay stock.

Thanks. If all is well, I do plan on ordering the Forge bpv and a trifecta tune after my warranty is up but didn't want to spend the extra $150 if I didn't need to.

Spoke with service Mgr this morning to let him know I Rcvd the kit. He's already printed the instructions from crateenginedepot and my email about possible clearance issues to have the tech read through ahead of time. Gonna meet with both of them tonight when I drop off for a look over the info together. It feels so weird to get this involved making sure the dealer is informed but they realize this is an out of the ordinary install using parts that weren't fine tuned to each vehicle and require some tailoring. They're good dudes and realize I'm anal lol.

I just always feel like I'm sending my kid in for surgery when my car is in the shop lol

So. Is this your dealers 1st time doing a GMTU install?
It was my dealers first. They had one of the corvette tech specialists do mine. I did the same thing you did. Supplied the parts and paperwork and gave him a little "how to" talk as far as the sensor install. I also told him I was gonna handle the clearance issue of the lower Tmap. He did comment afterwards about how close it was but didn't see a problem with it.
And, as I mentioned earlier, we still had a "oops" moment with the sensor tab trimming detail.

As far as the reflash on the computer. I seem to recall there are 2 different reflashes available. One is for the SS's that have the brake booster assist pump installed, the other for those without the assist pump.
I recall that someone on this site had a problem because he got the wrong reflash done( I think maybe it was bigjacksauto ?)
You may want to mention these 2 different reflashes to the tech. Sorry I don't have any real details, it's just something I recall from some previous GMTU discussions.

I'm not sure if it's the dealers first one. As for the tune, yeah I went myself and checked last time it was up on the lift at Tires Plus to make sure it didn't have the brake vacuum assist pump lol. I included it in the notes and highlighted the right code on the instruction sheet lol. I know they're more skilled than I am at fixing cars I'm just being really anal with the overkill. These guys have always been awesome and worked with me. It's the main reason I've bought my last 5 cars through this place. I can't wait. It's gonna be awesome. My fiancé and future step so are excited too lol

HOLY SH*T!!!!!!! I DON'T KNOW WHY I WAITED THIS LONG!!!!!!
I don't even know where to begin. This kit ROCKS. This is a whole new vehicle. Going from the choked auto to now this is unbelievable. I'm hitting 23+ lbs of boost and taking off like a rocket. Below 40mph the tires struggle to catch if I floor it and broke loose causing the traction control to kick in. Taking off from the line full throttle is impossible. Even at 60mph if I floor it its 23lbs and off like a shot. This is nuts. You can also hear the turbo whistle more now as it spools up. It's unreal.

The service mgr and Corvette tech that installed it want me to bring it back for a ride as it was raining when I picked it up from them and the roads down there were wet. They want to see it to believe it with the boost and performance numbers I was giving them. Turns out they hadn't installed this kit yet.

As for the install, he wants to kill the folks that decided to just go with this lower TMAP instead of designing a new one. He said there was NO clearance at all when he installed it. He considered the intercooler push forward and the bracket. He was worried about putting a bracket to hold the pipe since it's plastic. He didn't want to push the IC forward because he showed me (because I apparently misunderstood which part of the bracket to put washers on) that if he inserted washers on the one bracket he showed me it would move the IC back toward the engine and he would have to mount the IC on the front of the bracket to move it away.
I didn't realize the instructions were to shim the bracket between the bracket and crash bar not the IC.

All that said, he noticed the charge pipe was secured pretty far out from the IC so he loosened it and pushed it on about an inch more giving the clearance in the pic below. Looks to me like about the same amount of clearance SS fan got with his metal bracket. We agreed I'd let it be for a while then check it or have them check it to see if there had been any movement of the pipe back off of the IC closing the gap. I hope it holds as is but if not, well I'm warrantied.

I'm just blown away by this upgrade. I can't imagine adding any more power for a while. I have to actually go practice my throttle control both on and off of competitive mode to master this lol.

Thanks for all the feedback and advice. If you're reading this considering tuning your SS (especially if you have an auto)....DO IT!!!!!!!
