Please Tell Me GM Upgrade will make me smile lol
This dealership has been good and the MGR is amazing. Even drove my tablet 1/2 hour to me after work out of his way when I left it in my car without me asking. I was at dinner. Dude chilly brought it to my damn table. I just can't wait to stomp on it and see this auto open up.
Like he said it comes down to the guy doing the job. If he is trained right and doing the job properly there should have been no issues with the connectors. But a tech not doing it right makes all the difference.
As for the clearance issue it is not something easy to find as if you raise the car up and look at it all looks fine. I had the issues and found it cutting out about 12 PSI and dropping on it's face. The dealer looked at it and could not find an issue as there are no codes and the map is not hitting anything on the rack.
I crawled under and just laid under the car looking for a good while and I ran the rotation of the engine in my mind while looking at it. I saw where the sensor could come into contact if it had rotated enough. I then cut a price of roll bar padding that was the same shape as the tube and placed it to keep the tube from moving back. I went for a quick drive and found that it fixed it.
I then spoke to the GM engineer about this and he then told me to shim the IC and that should fix it. He even sent me the diagram to move it. Since then it has been fine.
The one other issue I had was when they replaced the IC they also had to replace the tube. The new tube once it got over 20 PSI blew the Map out of the tube. There was a plastic weld there and it was bad as the tube they put in was one of the first ones made.
The reason I found this out as the engineer asked me about my Vin and told me I have your intake tube here in the office. He then told me what they found. GM really does follow up on things like this to try to make sure they are isolated issues.
The greatest issue with this car and tune is it came out at the worst time in GM history and it was a night mare with all that was going on. Things are now getting better but too late to address this car. At least now with all the turbo engines we are no longer the odd one out there anymore.

Remind the installing tech to be sure to trim the tab on the lower Tmap sensor.
In fact, remind him and ask him about it after he's done.
Why do I say this? Let's just say I know what happens if you don't trim it.
AND, now, so does "my" tech.
The rest of the install is very simple. Especially with the plug-in harness.

I'm also planning on keeping the stock BPV for now as my warranty states non-factory parts aren't covered and I assume if I blow a turbo or something, the Forge BPV will be a shining beacon for them to point at as a culprit. Who knows.
I see many comments praising the GMTU without Forge so hopefully that's my experience as it was designed for factory parts lol.
When I'm out of warranty and myself and future wife are further along in our careers I can't wait to use this beach wagon as a full on speed toy lol.

As some were saying, the more stuff you do, the more damages that can happen...the stock I/C end tanks and piping have been known to crack in rare cases(usually tuned cars)...I wouldn't say that its often enough to scare you, but I've seen it on multiple forums with the LNF...The end tanks and the piping are plastic, and the high boost, with temperature changes make it possible...again, I'm not trying to scare you...

Well I've had my GMTU for over 2 years now bought the kit from crate engine with the quick connects. Haven't had any problems. I was lucky enough to have a local Chevy dealer that had a good tech. I provided all the paper work and extra stuff regarding all the install issues. The tech did it right. For the clearance problem the tech used some heavy duty zip ties and they have held up perfectly. Also have a forge BPV with the Yellow spring and its helped out alot. It holds boost at 20 to 21. Like everyone else says especially on a automatic trans with a tune, it feels like a totally different car.
worth it in my opinion

I'm also using the Forge BPV(it's non venting). Swapped in the yellow spring about a month ago.
Like stated before, if you need to take the car in for warranty work, you can just put the factory valve assembly back in.

Recirculating one. Works great. Holds boost better than the stock one and the yellow spring holds boost better than the green one. With the green spring boost would go up and down on wot. Not anymore not that the stiffer yellow one is in
