Cool, I got ChevyMgr to confirm that. Now since that kit is for an "08" SS and mine is an "09" SS, Is there Any difference in the kit aside from the CARB (I believe that's it?) number??

You can PM Chevymgr and make sure it is OK. He should know.
Technically speaking, a dealer that didn't do the install, would not have to warranty the part since you don't have a receipt from a GM dealer for the purchase of the part. The installing dealer would probably have no problem but another dealer might. NOTE: I SAID MIGHT!

You could always ask the seller to give you a copy of the receipt, from their dealership purchase, for peace of mind.

Mine for $485 shipped

Thanks for the heads up Cokeybill

Now I should get the cold start brake issue done before getting the stage 1 done?

DAMN YOU! Oh well I waited so I lost out. CrateEngineDepot here I come! Now what is this "cold-start brake issue"? I've heard of this elsewhere but don't know exactly what needs to be fixed?

It doesn't matter which one you get done first. The tech will have to download new software to match what has been done to your vehicle, anyway.

The brake fix has been done on my SS before the stage kit was done. Others had the stage kit installed before the brake fix.

If your AUTOMATIC SS has been built after 01/01/2009, it already comes with the aux vacuum pump that fixed the ''cold-start brake problem'' that were encountered on 2008 SS and early 2009 production SS.

Would the install receipt from the dealer that installed the kit be enough verification for another dealer to honor the warranty?

You're welcome. Enjoy...when the install gets done.

OK then, thanks for that info. Now a stupid question: where can I find out when my AUTOMATIC SS's build date was? Is there a sticker somewhere on the car, or do I have to do an online VIN search???
