HHR SS superchips tunner problems

I purchased the SUPERCHIPS CORTEX Tunner Last week ,Once I got the tune in I could not get it to work the car keeps going into limp mode,I brought it over to SUPERCHIPS and they were not able to figure out why its doing this,Has anyone had any troubles?and if not have you had the brake mod done from Chevy for hard brake pedal, they have added an extra vaccume pump and reflashed the PCM .I would just like to know the ones who have that tunner did you get this mod done .Im wondering if this is my problem.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

i would check on the superchips forum, the only feedback you will receive here will be from people that bash anything other than stock parts on your car (mainly because a lot of them work for gm lol).

Angry

I have the HHR SS Auto with 69k miles in June of last year, car was barely driven and pampered and I installed the Superchips tuner and a K/N Air filter about 6 months ago, about 2 months after I bought it, and it was a noticeable increase in power and it did not mess with the shift points which was very important to me. Also bought Power Stop K1612-26 1-Click Street Warrior Z26 Brake Kit for less than $300, all of which from Amazon, cheaper than all vendors, did not trust E-Bay "cleaned" tuners for more money anyway!: which is pretty good deal on Amazon for cross drilled slotted rotors and carbon fiber infused pads which I have not installed yet because the old dealer installed brake pads are still good, figured get the life out of them first, except the vibration in hard stops is really annoying with old rotors, hopefully not an issue with calipers, figured rotors were warped maybe, I have not even pulled the wheels off myself, as I have many other project cars and just want to get in and drive this one. Anyway, I was late for work today, a Saturday, and this car in front of me would not let me get past him, I would start to pass him and we were running 100 plus, and then traffic would come up and I could not get around in time without being an ass, not gonna cut it close just to be a teenager, but I was definitely getting past him, and he had it floored. Turned out it was a new Hyundai Genesis, guessing V-6, which is 311 HP, but less torque than a tuned HHR SS, and that car is 4200 lbs +. I could not see if it said it was the V-8 model or not, I was not right on his ass, and we were over 130 at times , and then he would slow down a little over 130:, which I read is the speed limit on those cars. Not sure but I know I was faster for sure when I had space to get around, unless he did have the V-8 and he just wanted to show his junk was bigger and messing around. I paid about $12K for my SS with taxes, tags, etc. last June, and only about $350 for tuner and filter. The base Genesis and AWD V-6 is around 37-42k! I have driven one as rental, nice car, but that much!?!?!?! The v-8 is probably much, much nicer: Hyundai Genesis Sedan, 2015 Genesis 4dr Sdn V8 5.0L RWD list:$50,950 and there's an R version: 2014 Genesis 4dr Sdn V8 5.0L R-Spec list:$46,820 and these are base prices. My HHR gets about the same fuel economy, even with the mild tune as the rear wheel drive V-6 Hyundai, maybe slightly less, the AWD version is much worse: 16/25 mpg, the V-8 version of course much, much less,15/23 mpg, but if your rich enough and don't care about that so be it, but I like to drive my car whenever the weather is nice, no snow, salt ever sees my car, sorry! And if I have to drive to work for a while, because my other daily driver for work a 95 Buick Le Sabre, with 68k original miles, is down or one of my kids needs to drive it, which is often, and I have my 99 ZR2 Blazer for the winter only, mostly sits, kids drive when needed. Sorry for long post 1st time posting, really, always keep up with the posts here, always looking here for tipsm info, et., thanks all, have a great day:ss :

....welcome. Perhaps slow down and not let someone get your goat? High Speed like that is reserved for the track.

I admit in my day I did a little street running with other drivers, but I never got THAT high of speed.

I normally never do that, never! I admit it was kind fast, but I never put anyone in jeopardy, and I never do that, that was a first since I was younger, with my Z-28 LT1, 6- speed. Unfortunately I do not live in an area that you can normally travel that fast, and there was extremely light traffic this morning as usual on Saturday. Yes, you are absolutely right, I should have been more responsible, I let my adrenaline take over.

I looked up this thread involving the Superchips tuners, and this is where it left off. It also was more for the high speed travelling with the Genesis that got me started googling about what the difference in costs, performance per dollar and economy vs. the Genesis. Also, I never normally post so it was a just an informal piece, since I have not posted here before. If you have a specific questions, problems, or any real informative thoughts to contribute to any of the subjects I had written about, please ask or tell me what you thinking is, thanks and have a great day!

I would have let it go, but, so far, this is the only thing you've written about.....in 10 months. My thinking is; what I said. I don't understand you point; and I still don't since you jumped around like you did and put all of those emoticons in between and really didn't add anything 'real informative' to what was concluded 5 and a half years ago. So, you have a great day.......

The original thread is about tuners, I purchased a Superchips Tuner and K&N air filter. And the performance that I have received for the dollar amount including purchase of vehicle vs. more expensive vehicle that does not have as good of performance or is as economical as well. Any pros or cons, experience with the Superchips tuner? I also included that I purchased the K26 street warrior brake kit, all 4 rotors cross drilled slotted with carbon fiber infused brake pads. Do you have any pros or cons about these items? Any experience with any of these products which were relatively cheap on Amazon? I also asked if there were issues with the stock brake rotors, such as warping, or if the calipers have issues. A lot of fluff in between, sorry to distract you with emoticons, etc. so please tell me again what was your point in not supplying a single piece of information regarding any of these topics? Someone please, if you have some incite, experience with these points, please provide info or feedback of these topics or points other than loosely condescending remarks about what my point is with these issues.

I have the K&N and superchips. It works fine with no issues and I get a few more ponies out the motor.
