Which type of shop to install new charge piping?

I'm considering getting some new charge piping for the SS and was wondering what type of shop would you take the pipes to for installation? I've read that most of you have installed them yourselves, but I am too busy and probably not skilled enough for the installation. Do you think and exhaust shop could bolt these on? Any idea on what they would charge? I'm considering just doing the hot side, but may look into the Hahn full kit. Thanks in advance!

No reputable shop will install a catless down pipe, but just about any shop that installs exhaust will get you going otherwise.

I'd get a few estimates. You might be surprised how much of a difference the prices are.

You could always ask someone on here that lives close to you that has done it before to come help you do it?

This isn't a downpipe, it's the intercooler piping.

HHRSSouth, I don't want to be a burden, especially since I'm pretty new to the board. Do you think I'd have to look for a performance shop to do the installation?

It could save you $150 dollars or maybe more if you do it yourself.

It should be pretty easy.

Do it yourself, take some pictures with a digital camera if need be to remember where everything goes.

But yes any performance shop should be able to install it. I wouldn't trust my car at any shop, I promise you, as rare as the HHR SS turbo is (not many people even know they exist), I can almost guarantee you it will be taken for a joy ride.

Really the upper IC pipe is pretty easy to replace

I don't know why your replacing the lower, its a good stock piece and would only need replacing if you had a bigger turbo upgrade.

Maybe I'll just go with the hot side pipe and do the install myself. I believe I have read that the hot pipe isn't too bad. I already had the front clip off the car when I did the headlights. Would have been great to knock it all out at once!

Well if you know your going to want to do the lower IC pipe for sure or will need to, I would do the lower with the bumper off.

But its not a must is all I'm saying on the stock turbo.

Can I do the hot side (upper?) with the bumper on? I'd love to put the new pipe on without removing the bumper again if I do not need to. By the way, I plan on keeping the stock intercooler and turbo for quite some time.
