I think you can take apart the skirting under the bumper to get there but the bumper is easier to remove .

You do not need to remove the bumper install the IC pipe at the IC. Just undo the plastic fender pans. it takes a 10mil and its only 4 screws.

Be real sure to get the T-Bolts, otherwise POP! they need to be tight, but be careful too tight will de-form the pipe

1st pic is hot+cold kit
2nd pic is Inlet
3rd pic is the tight spot, not much knuckle room
4th finished install

total time 30 minutes
PM if you have some questions

PS the cold-side is a *****, and requires moving the radiator foward about an 1.5" (made brackets). On the plus side the T-map no longer touches anything!

Thanks for the pics and suggestions guys! After installing the TTR motor mount yesterday, I am more adventurous and will probably attempt this myself as well. I think I'll stick with just the hot side pipe though to save some cash and headaches!

I'd get a few estimates. You might be surprised how much of a difference the prices are.
WTF?!?!??! ANY shop will install it for you... every tuner shop especially

downpipe is one of the EASIEST parts to install. hot side charge pipe is pretty easy also. cold side isn't needed. just do the install yourself.

Any idea on what they would charge? I'm considering just doing the hot side, but may look into the Hahn full kit. Thanks in advance!

don't buy the Hahn stuff........... way overpriced.

there's a lot of options out there other than Hahn. i highly recommend ZZP parts. you can find them in the Cobalt section, yes they fit perfectly fine on the HHR.

Hey Rally,

Nobody told him to buy HAHN, the pics were to show him it could be done by himself quickly, without having to remove the bumper. Geez.
