Stainless is hard and doesn't bend easily, but the material they used is malleable and I was able to lightly tap the edge of one of the pipes that arrived bent and with two light taps it moved, stainless does not do this, it’s pretty hard to bend or cut. Also, the pipe was grey on the inside, stainless from what I’ve seen is silver or a sort of brownish tinge if not polished. Like I said, I might be wrong, but I don’t think I am.
Your anecdotal descriptions of what you believe stainless steel is, are pretty vague. If he is indeed shipping something made from a different material than advertised, he's dipping into a whole new area of ethical/civil/criminal behavior. However (and with as much of my respect and trust as he's pissed away), I would still be more inclined to think you may not be correctly identifying the material your parts are made of.

There are ways to tell if your pipe material is indeed stainless, probably the easiest is with a magnet. Some poor alloys can still be somewhat magnetic they will not be as strong as steel. Normally #316 is used in that application and will not be magnetic. I hope that can be helpful.

Has anyone seen the system up close, it looks as if it has been plated. The welds are coated. I had a Magnaflow system a few years back and it looked nothing like this. Also, I'm a handyman and I have always played around with mechanical things since I was popped out so it's not like I'm totally disconnected with these type of things. I'll try the magnet, and I'll see when I can pull it off and have it checked, but I'm kind of busy and it does sound good.
I almost wrote about what I noticed initially, but didn't want to stir up any crap so I left it alone till now.

I really hope that I am wrong, but it sure did look weird to me. Everything is super shiny and looks coated as if it's melted solider. Now that I think about it a little more, for the HHR they cut off one of the hangers and the cut did look ok, but I'm not 100% sure because of how easy the pipes bend.

I wish HAHN would come on and correct me if I'm wrong, I like these folks and am looking to them to get best out of my HHR. I plan to give them a ring in the morning now that I'm getting into it.

I emailed and called Hahn 2 days ago and in the e-mail to them I pasted the comments in this thread and expressed my concerns with the HHR SS exhaust system I purchased from them. I mentioned how I didn't believe that it is stainless steel and how it's a sloppy job being that they CHOPPED off/CUT one of the hangers leaving sharp edges. Not having that hanger is causing the system rattle and smack against the sides while driving. I have had it adjusted twice and nothing has stopped it and they told me I need to have a hanger welded in the correct location. It seems as if they took the Cobalt exhaust they sell and hacked it up to make a quick sale. To correct this they would need to weld a hanger to match the existing one already on the HHR so you could use those black rubber muffler fasteners again to stabilize it, but being that they cut the one off and didn’t relocate/add it where it should go I’m screwed and have to pay to have it fixed. I wrote and called Hahn 2 days ago and NO Response from them. It sounds good, but the smacking has to go.

Hi Everyone! Some associates called my attention to this thread, and yes...we've been having one heck of a year over here. I'll soon post with more information, and start working my way through your posts on this thread (some of which do include inaccuracies, such as us blowing motors, lol!), but here's the Cliff's Notes version:

This year, I decided to put family first, and for once, the business last. It is not a decision I will ever regret. In March, I discovered that my father was deathly ill. With no time to plan, I suddenly moved to Florida to care for him in his home. I was his primary caregiver until his death from lung cancer months later. I well knew that this decision to just up and leave could damage my company badly, but I did not hesitate. I was at my father's side when he passed away in his own bedroom. No amount of money can ever replace that.

Recovering from being gone for many months has not been easy, as the effects of such a long, unplanned absence still linger, although we've done a passable job of getting caught up. There remains much work to be done. As if losing Dad wasn't enough, during this time, another close family member passed away...this time my dear young Aunt, who was so close to me in age we practically were brother and sister. The devastation to the family after having just losing our patriarch was immense, and I flew to my mother's side to help her cope. Aunt Diane was her best friend, and it's been quite a year for Mom.

Our company is not on life support, but it is currently recovering from these events. I'll expound more upon what's occurred, and where we are going, when I make my official announcement of our status soon.

To all of our customers who have remained supportive during this very trying time, you have my deepest gratitude. Thank you. I'd also like to extend my thanks to my staffers who have remained steadfast during these difficulties, doing their level best to maintain the helm during my long absence. You really find out who matters at times like this.

Sorry for your losses. Glad to hear things aren't as bad as the internet makes them out to be. Best of luck getting things back up to speed.

Thank you for your kind reply. I'd like to also emphasize that while the losses themselves have certainly been impactful, the worst part for the business was the long absences incurred.

When this was explained to them, most customers understood. However, as you can see in this thread, some did not. My hat is off to those who did and do. God bless them for their care and understanding!

WHAT'S UP HAHN, WE HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OVER A YEAR?

OH YEAH, how about a BIG TURBO?

DON'T YOU WANT OUR $$$$$$$$$$$

HAHN HAHN HAHN HAHN HAHN!!!!!!
We do indeed want your business. Thank you for your support!

As mentioned above, we've been through a major year of pain, but our ability to recover is well-known. We've not been here for 21 years because we aren't up to the challenge!

New product development was one of the areas hardest-hit by my absence, as that's my primary function here. Nonetheless, as I am almost caught up on the car projects that languished during my absence (had to finish those first, before developing new product again), I am ready to pick up the ball again with new product. It won't belong before the tap opens again!
