Submit your VIN info to ChevyMgr and he'll get you your build sheet for your car.

Thanks everyone, I did just this and I DO have an LSD. Now I can spend the money on some other upgrade.

For any others looking for this info, look at the silver RPO tag on the inside of your glovebox door. If G85 is listed, you have the LSD.

Actually only about 1 in 5 HHR SS manuals had LSD , there are far more non-LSD manuals out there. As far as cobalts with LSD I have no idea.

REALLY I'm surprised I'm one of the ones that have one because I didn't think of checking at purchase and I'm one of those guys that if it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any luck at all. LOL Thanks for the info.

No , Thats me. Oh they come with a lsd , Cool ! Oh ya i don't have that, No one told me at the dealer. . And i don't want to try one , Because i've gotten used to being on top of the wheel at WFO , I'd love to see the differance between the lsd and no lsd in the 1/4 mile. I'm thinkin it 's not a big deal. But i could be wrong, It's happen a couple of times.

From the way I understand it LSD is more useful in cornering, although a little more traction when spinning in a straight line never hurt either.

Actually, about 1 in 5 HHR's has LSD.. for 2008, 80% of the people who bought a 5sp also got the LSD. For 2008, that number is closer to 78%.

Gmando, I'm sure you could get it through the stealer, but it would be the same as factory when installed. I've heard of a couple others, but believe it is more involved (going to 6sp, etc).

For the dealerships that ordered 5 speeds w/o LSD from RPO for the floor, every one of them should be lined up and kicked in the balls... hard. For customers who ordered from RPO without getting LSD should be slapped (and the dealer kicked in the balls for not helping the customer understand they should get LSD). For customers who couldn't find a unit with LSD and settled on one without... it's time to pay 3x for what should have been ordered with the car in the first place. Ordering the performance trim on the platform without the ONLY performance option offered (sorry, Sport Seats are not a performance option), is just plain silly.

I think that's too kind.. hung by them may be a better punishment.

Yeah, except I had quite a few friends who never knew you could order one to your specs. If they knew you could, could afford it and didn't??!? We get enough helpings of snow and ice not to have it around here.
