2.4 Throttle Body and other mods

I put the 2.4 Throttle body on my 2.2 today. Took me less than 20 minutes to remove air filter, change out Throttle Body, do the Trifecta tune on it and put the filter back together and on.
It is too early to tell anything about mileage but I can feel it accelerates harder and that is cool. The 2.4 TB is a good mod. When I did the Airaid intake filter it sounded better but could not feel anything, mileage did appear to go up a little though. Same with the 2.4 exhaust and the Cherry Bomb muffler but when I did the Trifecta tune I immediatly felt the difference. I also felt an improvement when I did the 2.4 intake manifold change. Noticable improvement with 2.4 TB. I think the Trifecta tune is the best performance mod I have done.
My hope and thinking is to open up the intake and exhaust the engine will not have to work as hard to accelerate and is more effecient giving better performance and mileage. So far it has proved to be true but not as much as I had hoped. (is it ever?) My mileage was 21/30 and it is now 25/36. I am hoping for a little better when I get done hot rodding it. A few weeks ago I did the Trifecta tune and so far my mileage seems to be about the same but I have been hot rodding it... A lot!
Best handling mod is hands down the Goldline lowering springs. Also of note when I lowered it I also put the taller Solstice wheels and tires on it and my mileage improved quite a bit. A solid 2 to 3 MPG which is very significant in my opinion.
With the mods I have done I suspect the performance is almost as good as the 2.4 but the mileage is better. So right now I can not say definatively that I won but it does look good for the home team. Just so you know I do most of my highway testing at 70 MPH it does do better at 60 MPH but on the highway 70 is most common speed so that is what I try to use for my baseline. That makes it easier to compare apples to apples.

So right now I am very pleased with the performance and handling. The mileage I would like to get a little better but from here on out any improvements will most likely be small if at all. In 2 weeks I will be making a long highway run and will do more highway testing. The only problem with this is it is a business trip and I will be carrying another person and a bunch of luggage and other things so it may not be a true test.

You say you put the taller wheels and tires on and get better mileage. Did you get your speedometer/odometer corrected for the difference in the tire size?? If not how do you really know what your mileage is now?

I know exactly what the mileage is

You are absolutly correct that taller tires do change the speedometer some. In my case about 3%. I have verified it with my GPS and by physical check. My RPM is a little lower, the speedometer reads just a little lower so my actual mileage is a little better than indicated. If your speedometer says you traveled 100 miles but you actually went 107 then your mileage is better than indicated.
I lowered the car, put a front air dam on and put the taller tires on about the same time and it definatly helped.
My mileage charts show a solid 3 MPG gain but how much of that is taller tires or lowering car and how much (If any) is because of the front Air dam. If you correct for the taller tire it may be a little more. Regardless of how you look at it the taller tires and or lowering of the car made a good improvement. I personally believe most of the improvement is the taller tires and it definatly runs at a little lower RPM on the highway.

I am also very sure that if I had went to a taller but narrower tire the mileage would be a little better. In hind sight I did not get the best tire combo (too wide) for mileage but there is pretty limited choices to choose from.

I bought the 2.4 intake manifold and TB

I bought the 2.4 intake manifold and Throttle body from somene on EBay the problem is my car is a 2008 and the donor car was a 2007.
I had to buy another TB as they are wired different and I did not want to splice anything. I sold the 07 TB to another member and he really likes it.
So far on one tank of gas with the Trifecta tune and the 2.4 TB the performance and mileage is definatly up some.
