Use a lint free cloth, no toothbrushes, and let the Throttle Body Cleaner do most of the work. Once the cleaner has dissolved the carbon gunk/goop, carefully wipe up the excess cleaner and deposits.

Take great care in moving the throttle butterfly manually, do it gently and slowly.

You could pull the fuel pump fuse (#13) and the ECM fuse (#41) in the underhood fuse box, then have a helper hold the gas pedal to the floor to initiate the "Clear Flood" mode while cranking the engine.(The same procedure you'd use when running a compression check)

That would pop the throttle butterfly wide open without your physical intervention. But it's probably not necessary to get that radical, unless the throttle body is really carbon caked.

Gentle handling of the butterfly will usually not result in any post cleaning issues, it's when folks take their fingers or a screwdriver and just snap that sucker open, then you hear the tales or erratic idling.

I would agree with you if I did not take my throttle body apart and see that they're it's no damage in the inside internally or any stripping
