Additives?

2010 LT 2.2:
In my Saturn, I've always used 4 oz. Seafoam gas additive to my tank fill-up with excellent results, sprayed Chemtool for a few seconds (every 6 months) into the air intake to de-carbon the uppers, add 4oz. Marvel Mysery Oil in the crankcase at each oil change. Lastly, I've also been very successful at keeping my Trans very smooth and happy after 260k miles (orig. in Saturn) with Lucas TransFix. I don't always believe in 'what's good for the goose' theory, but my Saturn SW2 (1.9 DOHC) has been very reliable and still has original motor/A/T for 260k miles, and is showing no signs of slowing down.
Does anyone have any disagreement about additives in HHR's or are there any in particular that seem to be the best?
All ideas appreciated!

I put nearly 300,000 on Oldblue, the pickup and the HHR, no additives ever.
Sweetie put almost the same mileage on her 2003 Sunfire GT no additives ever.
So, I’m not a huge believer .

How can you prove that the additives had any effect? There are thousands out there with as much satisfaction that have never done anything to their car.

Evidently it hasn't hurt anything. My opinion is it's snake oil.

If it makes you happy keep doing it.

Buy quality fuel and oil. No additives needed.

x3 - the only additive I've ever used over the years was the odd Fuel injector cleaner, or Gas preservative for off-season storage.

No additives here. As said just stick with quality fluids and keep up with the recommended change cycles.

I run 100% gas in everything, except the Mopar. That sees the most use.

With all of the different ideas and seasoned suggestions here, I will defnitely be cycling (exchanging) in some Lucas TransFix, because as my mechanic said after feeling the difference of the smoother shifting with my Saturn.. "It certainly can't hurt, and it seems to be shifting smoother at lower rpms". After some debate and more back info, I think I will not use the oil additives thanks to the great advice here, but I will still occasionally just use some gas additives to keep the plugs from carbonizing and clean the fuel pump and injectors. Again, I really appreciate the info here.
