I agree with you wholeheartedly. It’s just that I was hoping to find something which can be beneficial, and yet help others. But, I’m starting to get the idea that their scheme is more of an Amway pyramid than just trying to sell good oil. Hmmmm thanks for the input!

Yes, it seems the way they explained it, is to say they didn’t want to pay royalties for having the Dexos label, which makes sense for the average guy, but now it seems like they aren’t really passing on that savings to anyone else, so it’s a little disheartening to someone like me who already had been a “snake oil” dealer as a naive young adult, and I’m certainly not going to do that anymore. I’ve learned, but I was also open to something which appeared to be genuine and was around a long time, so there was built in credibility. Ah well, back to the drawing board. Looks like I just need to find a decent price seller for Dexos.

I get mine at a regional farm supply chain called Farm and Fleet. Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Iowa.

I wonder if you can get Amazon's oil there?

Unfortunately I think the issue for you is being in Hawaii. Everything is expensive due to shipping. I have a friend who lived there for quite a few years. Met his wife there, she's native, but ultimately moved back (with her) to Wisconsin due to the high cost of living.

I stopped buying oil at the auto parts store, too expensive. Even on sale, they require you to buy a filter with it, the filter cost more than they allow for the promotion, so you pay more.

I now go to home depot, much cheaper. The Pennzoil synthetic is about $27 for a 5 quart jug, the castrol is around $22. I just checked your store in Hilo.

I buy Mobil 1 at Walmart in 5 quart jugs. It's branded, so they can't f it up.

When I had the Saabaru, it didn't like M1, and spit a lot out into the PCV system. Pennzoil Platinum didn't have that problem. Both 5W30 in similar high-rev, high-lateral-g autocross use. Tossing it out there just in case anyone has issues with M1, which I think is superior in general, and was the OEM fill for the SS.

I miss autocross. I am working the kid and wife into kid driving, and wife allowing a return. I can set the car up much better now, even if my reflexes aren't what they were 15 years ago.

Yep, Blue SS- I get my M-1 @ WalMart as well, or sometimes @ Tractor Supply. I watch for the good sales. I just check the date code on the bottom or back of the jugs they were filled.
I don't want any very old stock oil.

They have date codes like milk jugs, for anyone who may not know this.
