Frustrated with cam sensor
Frustrated with cam sensor
My 2009 HHR is throwing codes 0010 0011 for the cam sensor. Replaced sensor, disconnected battery and the light is still on and the car is rocking back and forth at idle and eating gas like no tommorow. The car originally (according to Auto Zone) threw a code for a crankshaft position sensor, but that isnt showing on any one elses. I'm frustrated at this point. We've checked the wiring and the part multiple times. It'll be fine for a few hours then right back to rocking and light on. Please someone, an actual solution to this problem?
Welcome to the site.
Sorry, but it sounds like you may have replaced the wrong parts. Many owners have been told wrong by the so-called "auto parts store pro". It is usually not the cam sensors but the actuator solenoids.
Here's a thread by one of our mods, whopper. It should contain all the info you need. https://www.chevyhhr.net/forums/how-...13-14-a-28779/
PS. The codes in your post are not accurate. I'm just assuming you mean P0010, P0011. Always be precise when asking about trouble codes.

They don't know how to read code descriptions and sold you the wrong parts. SOLENOID not sensor. You should have started here with "camshaft position" in the search box.
