Smile Gas mileage with 2.2

6.9 liters/ 100 kilometers which works out to 40.93 MPG city/ highway combined. Awesome

Question - do you Canadians have ethanol blended into your gasoline? Because if you do, the above numbers are physically impossible.

It's actually 34.09, but very good nonetheless!

You're using imperial gallons, not US gallons.

This post is toooo funny.

40mpg, yeah right, I wish..and you do too.

Whip out your calculator and do this with me. 100km/1.6(km in one US mile)= A then 6.9liters/3.78(liters in one US gallon)=B ..

do a little algebra A/B=

Your welcome.

I am getting on some mixed drives up to and below 6.0 liters/km

30 is quite good for 50/50 driving. Before I started "hypermiling", the same routes I was taking (realize that I was not babying it like I am now) as in my 6oo mile in one tank post is 28ish, maybe 29. That is 60/40 hwy.city

I took mine out for a drive yesterday with 1/8th of the driving city, rest was Hwy (~70mph). I got 33 mpg overall. It usually gets 23 in town (I have a lead foot). If my math is right, from the overall hwy miles that would calculate to about 34.5 mpg @ hwy. I was also using 10% Ethanol blend. The drive was with the AC on and late night with little to no wind blowing. This was my first time out with it on the hwy, usually I drive mostly in town with little or no hwy miles. It has 1300 miles on it so far. 23 city to 34.5 hwy sure beats my 1999 chevy conversion express van that was only getting 9mpg. I'm going to take a long trip out of state next weekend so I will have better Hwy mpg numbers after that. Anyway it plays, I really love my HHR. It also catches a lot of attention ('08 Black Granite Shadow Special Edition). Almost forgot to add, it is a 2.2L with automatic xmission.

I routinely get 32-33 with a good mix of hwy/city driving.
