Hard to start in the AM.

My wife's 07 with the 2.2 in it has been hard to start after sitting for more than 8 hours for a few weeks now. I just changed the fuel pump yesterday because in my experience, that is what causes this symptom 100% of the time. She texted me today and said it did it again. After the car starts, it runs fine and starts subsequently just fine. No MIL, no codes. Any ideas?

I've also been losing quite a bit of oil and can't find where it's going. Not noticing any excessive smoke from the tail pipe, no carbon deposits on the pipe..... I'm lost here. I did notice the other day, quite a bit of oil in the throttle body. Where is the PCV valve? Is there even one? Any other ideas?

Thank you in advance for any help with this matter

No PCV valve.

The EVAP valve under the hood is the cause of hard starts 90% of the time. Fouled plugs about 5%. Fuel pump the rest, after you test it.

If there is oil in the TB it's going out the tailpipe. You could be lucky and a SeaFoam treatment would fix a carboned up oil control ring. I had some success pouring an ounce or so into each cylinder let sit over night.

Is AC Delco 214-1680 what you're referring to about the evap valve?

Even though it's a new fuel pump I would test the fuel psi and check to see if it holds rail pressure with the engine off.

I have had new out of the box fuel pumps fail fairly quickly.
