GMPP if you can find one, K&N is about the same...... But seriously, an intake isn't going to make a huge difference so that you suddenly "keep up with people"........ Who and what are you trying to keep up with?

The best bang for the buck mod you can do is a Trifecta tune......

That was my thought, who and what are you trying to keep up with? You'll find a couple of hp with an intake at the most, for the biggest hp gains you're talking a turbo install. HHR's aren't going to keep up with a well driven Camaro or Mustang with a V-8, but I've had no problems woofing up on the V-6's.

Welcome & enjoy your ride for what it is... Don't go nuts with racing around. I enjoy my 09 2.2 the way it is and it surprises me from time to time. Just enjoy.

Just short of installing a Turbo, Supercharger or Nitros there really isn't much else! We have the Trifect Tune installed on our 2.4 but it really just removes any delay in throttle response and does give you crisper shifts! As our friends have said, "It's Kinda Hard to Polish a Turd" .....

Cow Chip, Buffalo Chip? If you are thinking of installing any kind of "chip" to help improve your HHR's performance go directly for a Trifecta Tune! We started our mods with a Jet Performance Control Module which was just a fancy name for "Give Us Your Money", $200.00 I think! Biggest "Piece-O-Crap" we ever spent money on! Here's a link for a product review we did for our Trfecta Deal!

Never did hear what you are trying to catch, If you want it to still be shaped like an HHR and go fast then trade in the 2.2 for one that has a 2.0 and says SS on the door if you still haven't caught up to them get a little gizmo called Stage-1 if that won't catch them your running with an awfully speedy group not sure you can catch them on a budget.
