IMCO Muffler

IMCO Muffler
Somebody help please. All I've heard about is the T-924 is the way to go when purchasing a new muffler. I've even seen a few that say the T-924 is good for the 2.4, while the T-909 is what you should use for the 2.2.
So what's the difference between the two? Sound? Quality? Size?

Im prety sure its just the size of the inlet, the T924 has a 2.5" inlet while the T909 has a 2.25" inlet. THey should both work the same and any muffler shop can whip you up a transition piece to go from your stock tubing to the New Muffler!

Internally they're the same. Externally they look the same. The pipe size on the T909 is just closer to the size of the 2.2 tailpipe. I put the 909 on our LS because it was easier for me to get someone to install it Two different muffler shops were giving me a hassle about putting the T924 on
Sounds great without being noisy inside I'm happy with my choice!

It's all in the eyes of the beholder chasarch. I noticed a slight improvement in mine when I first installed it. Then I added the CGS intake and it seemed to improve it a little more. That's when the problems started...the car sounds so cool and breathes so much better, I've got my foot into it alot more than before...thus I've kind of equaled all of the mpg improvement out.
For the cost of the IMCO to buy and install, even without any gas mileage improvement...I think it makes the car sound better. Takes away that stock muffler sound and in my opinion is not loud enough to compromise cabin noise.
We've had this discussion many times and some think it's better...both sound and/or mileage and some don't. It's all a matter of perspective.

To tell you the truth I don't really don't know. We've never checked our gas mileage. I put the IMCO on, and I also put in a K&N Air Filter. That's all the changes I plan on doing and I'm just assuming that those two things together are giving us a mile or two more MPG. I will say that it does seem to be somewhat "Peppier" than it was before!

I've been seeing the price for the IMCO being around $30-50 depending on where you buy. (if I'm correct, that's cheap!!!!) After parts and labor, wouldn't this be an around $100 upgrade total? Or do muffler shops charge more for an install?
