Hello Enoon - Sorry i type bad . I know that means something..
I have a 2006 lt 2.2L ecotec . Is this mod because of the slower response
in the 2.2. I actually rented a 2.4 before I bought this and there is a large difference . I have a heavy foot as I had a Cessna Superhawk for 9 years sold now . That price is quite low for any significant change is that correct ?
Thanks for any info .

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but the 08 2.2 has a different intake manifold than the 05-07 2.2 correct?

Thats a good question beef. I know the computer program is different, but I don't think the engine itself is any different. I am not 100% sure though.

I base that off all of the advertising for the 2.4 intake manifold kits for the 2.2, they state that it will work for the 05-07 2.2 Cobalts, but that it has not been tested on the 08 2.2 Cobalt due to a "different intake design". Granted this is for the Cobalt not the HHR but...

And yes, the 07+ have 32-bit ECM's.

I was reading through the GMPP racing mods manual and it said there was a mid-year change that added a camshaft sensor, making some parts incompatible.

Cobalt 2.2 to 2.4 Intake Kit!

We have completed a kit for the 2.2 owners to upgrade to a 2.4 intake manifold.

Give you added power with a 13.12HP gain.

Tested on 05-07 Cobalts, the 08 Cobalt uses a different intake manifold and has yet to be tested.

Dyno tests:

GM's Stock 2.2 Intake manifold HP Best: 138.61 @ 5500
CED's Kit 2.4 Kit Intake manifold HP Best: 151.73 @ 6300
Gain: 13.12HP

GM's Stock 2.2 Intake manifold TQ Best: 140.00 @ 4400
CED's Kit 2.4 Kit Intake manifold TQ Best: 142.12 @ 4900
Gain: 2.12TQ

Dyno Video Link: http://videos.streetfire.net/video/2...77000761d5.htm

Test vehicle stats: 2007 Cobalt 2.2 5sp MT
Mods List:

GMPP Intake Pipe
2.4 Intake Manifold
GMPP Sport Catback
Prothane MotorMounts
Eibach Prokit
SS/SC Front Sway Bar
Progress Rear Sway Bar
Sumitomo HTR 225/50/15 Tires

Testimonials:
I am happy with the performance, and how the car reacts. I feel the car is more responsive and the power is more linear. It doesn’t seem to pull hard then start to wheeze like it did.

Note: as seen in charts minor torque loss at lower RPMs.

Look at all the mods. its only 151hp with intake, exhaust, and intake mani... so the manifold it self added 13 hp yeah thats not bad for the price, but not that tuning is available... 2.2 guys should upgrade to the 2.4 throttle body too

How about a performance update?

Still happy with the intake? Mileage gains? How about any installation tips?
I just ordered a used one off of a 2007 for my 2008. The guy at Chevy said it should work no problem but it has not been tested yet.

One other thing I noticed on the dyno sheets that are very hard to read. It looks like it lost torque and power at around 3500 but the 2.4 intake made more power below that and above it so I think that might be a fuel flow or timing issue.
If so a good tune should increase power and torque across the board from idle up. Curly

We've done a bunch of tuning with the 2.2 Cobalts and 2.4 intake manifolds. I saw a dyno sheet somewhere that showed 154HP at the wheels with our tune and the 2.4 intake. We found the peak HP RPM was about 6500 instead of 5900. The Cobalt owners I've spoken to about it are very happy with it.

A little information

I have some information. I just installed the 2.4 intake on my 2008 2.2 and had a few problems. Still it only took about 1.5 hours. First off it is a tight fit to get it in and out. The main problem is one of the sensors is different. It is the small one right on top of manifold by the throttle body. It had a different sensor and would not work with the old wiring harness. So I had to make a short temporary adaptor and use the stock sensor. I will try to find out exactly what sensor it is and try to find one that will work with the 2008 harness and 2007 intake.
I just drove it home and it seems a little better. Soon I will put the 2.4 throttle body on there with the Trifecta tune and it should all come together.
