Oil analyse for 2.2 Ecotec
Hi all, please see report below. Looks ok. Imported the car from Pennsylvania into Canada. The car was a GM exec car. Gives great mileage, very please with the HHR overall. I replaced the oil with Mobil 1 5w30 going forward.

You really need to compare to averages for that specific engine/oil combination (maybe that's what's indicated by 'unit averages') to get an idea whether that's good or not, e.g. I don't think that there are any sand-cast parts in the Ecotec, they appear to be all done by lost-foam (but I'm not sure of the slurry coat composition) or diecasting, so it'll have a different signature from other engines. Looks mostly good though, copper and tin are low. Not sure about the iron, if you generate lots of bigger debris, presumably there's a magnetic trap somewhere (I haven't done a change on mine yet), that'll keep them out of the bulk oil sample.

Interesting analysis Jimbo. And as stated a comparison of several will be a valuable tool.
Oh, just noticed....why did you post an analysis of the 2.2 Ecotec in a section for the 2.0?? Mistake???
