Replacing my engine
Amazing if you were able to get it out the top. I have pulled a few FWD engines, in a shop, on a hydraulic lift. Most of them required that the engine, transaxle, and front subframe be removed as a unit, using a huge hydraulic jack with wheels on it and an adjustable fixture that could be adjusted to fit the frame. Once everything was disconnected, the fixture was placed under the subframe, the bolts were removed, and the whole assembly was lowered out the bottom of the car, where the parts could then be separated. One of the issues I have with FWD cars. I have removed and replaced dozens of engines and transmissions from RWD cars/trucks.
What went wrong with it and what was the mileage? My 2011 now has 86,000 miles, and I'm beginning to have my doubts about it lasting past 200,000 miles like my '01 Malibu did.
