Trifecta tune... http://www.trifectaperformance.com/

Most of the "chips" are snake oil.

For you 2.2 folks..... First, I tuned the 1st HHR with HPTuners over 5 years ago, but that took some exchanges and updates before it would work.

'06 and '07 2.2 with the E16a ECM are NOT tunable with HPTuners. The only good option is Trifecta. Downside is that success has resulted in sometimes poor response times lately. I was asked by Vince to become a reseller, but declined, even though I've got a lot of respect for him and what he's done. None of us want to be out tuning and not have the ability to get the job done due to a lack of response. I just like the personal "hands on" approach to tuning, not having to rely on someone else.

'08 and up (both 2.2 and 2.4) have the E37 ECM, which is tunable with HPTuners, however those are NOT officially supported on HHRs. I have tried two, both '09s.

The first resulted in a "invalid VIN/OS" error mid Feb. Was able to get the OEM calibration and HPT info log files off the car. Got this fixed with a recent beta update and was able to tune it successfully in early Mar.

Second '09 in mid Apr. was a total bust! Could not pull the file, could not get the info log for HPT. Luckily I wrote down the VIN.

In going onto GM's TIS website (I have access!), all the OS numbers matched! The issue is that the VIN was not supported, being a Panel.

Bottom line.... There are two things that are embedded into HPTuners code to verify that the vehicle is supported... The VIN (basically the left side) and the OS, which is GM's part number of the operating system. If both are not in the code, no workie!

At this point, they are planning a fix. Unfortunately, HHRs are not their biggest priority. If any of you are dealing with this, you'll need the latest beta and contact support about any issue. Success is also a problem with HPTuners, with too many issues and too few people.
