If you had an SS donor car sitting right next to your existing car and swapped over everything that was different, yeah it could be done. It's not just the engine that is different. To just add a bunch of power to your existing car without adding better brakes, handling, transmission, etc. is generally not safe and certainly not recommended..

To do it right, it would cost more in the long run. But, yeah, it could be done.

What’s everything I would have to transfer to my car from the ss bc at this point that’s what I think I’m going to do bc ive been looking for an ss to buy but it’s non existent here but there is one in the junkyard that’s still pretty intact with everything but the muffler and the rear shocks n breaks.

You could purchase that SS and transfer whatever parts you want to , like engine and transmission, ECM and fuse box , TCM , front axles and brakes , the intercooler, front bumper facia, grille.
You don’t have to transfer the the interior.
It would be a sleeper, like putting a police interceptor big block in a 2 door hard top car, nobody out ran me in that car!

That's it........EVERYTHING. Sorry, but if you have to ask, then it's probably out of your mechanical ability. The complete wiring harness swap would be a hard task. All the modules including the interior BCM. And all the programming you'll need to do when "mixing" parts. Can you do programming ? Do you have a Tech II or equivalent ?
In the end (unless you're a mechanical guru wizard) you'll spend more time and money trying to make this work.
SS non existent there ? Look outside your area. There are many available elsewhere.

.

I agree with FiremanGeorge 100%

Lets See now..... I am fully committed to do this and 3/4 of the way thru I am totally Drained Mentally Physically and/or Financially and have a non drivable / running HHR.

I have purchased 8 HHR's elsewhere and it is a whole lot easier and cheaper then what you are looking at attempting to do.
I can give you a good shipper if you are interested.
It's OK to dream but be careful here.

Cargurus shows 7 HHR SSs within 200 miles of Toledo. There is one in Logan Ohio for $3950, and one in Beavercreek, Ohio for $4995.

If you go out to a 500 mile radius, there are 14 of them. That doesn't even count the private sale ones on craigslist.

Last year I bought an SS from Cincinnati and had it shipped to my house in Lockport, NY.

I have pulled a few HHR engines and transmissions. These cars are at least 10 years old at best, and you will break a bunch of little parts swapping engine, trans, etc. These parts will be a pain to find and some will be obsolete. You will spend many hours tacking down things like the bushing for the auto trans shift cable that broke because the plastic was brittle (this happened to me recently) and then you find out it's part of the cable assembly. I searched for many hours and found a company that made the bushing, but it cost $35! I paid it because it beat buying a new shift cable and dissembling the center console to replace it. I actually made some replacement parts because I have some machining equipment.

If all it needs is muffler, shocks, and BRAKES, you could just fix the SS.

This explains it all.
As everybody has said.
Sell yours and by an SS.
Even if you have drive miles to get one.

Like I suggested in post #2.

the search is less effort and expensive as swapping all those parts.
as the saying goes

”There’s nothing you can do, that can’t be done”
John Lennon.
“ But it’s gonna take some money, to do it right!”
George Harrison.
