2.4L Engine Build

I was just curious I am sure these motors can go hundreds of thousands of miles with regular up keep.
Are you planning on running at the track to get some numbers when its all dialed in?
Keep us posted.

Oh yeah. I will hit the drag strip a few times, but what I am most excited about is getting into some autoX events. The nice thing about the ZZP pulley system is that it is modular. So I can swap pulleys/belts in 5 minutes. I will be running a small pulley most of the time, but if I plan long road trips or do autoX I can just throw on a larger pulley before I go for better fuel economy...and in for autoX better traction and lower temps.
I love it more than you do.

I have the weekend off so I will likely get something up then. I am done with the break in and have been ripping around a bit with the 2.9" pulley, but I have to work out a few bugs in the tune. Seems since I put the lighter flywheel on, when the engine revs down to idle it overshoots since it spins down so fast and drops to ~500rpms then recovers. It is super annoying. Also in order to run the smaller pulley I think I am going to need an idler pulley to get a better wrap on the smaller SC pulley or it will likely slip since I kept the 5 rib belt instead of the 6 rib LSJ belt. I will post a picture of that once I am finished to give you a better idea of what I am talking about. Once I get that squared away I am putting on the 2.7" and my LS4 throttle body.

Cool
I remember. Fighting to keep the belts from slipping. On the miniblowers on the small blocks
I had a friend who took off the auto tension setup on his mini blower and put in a manual adjustment
Along with some belt dressing he was getting well beyond what b&m ever thought was possible 12—14 psi
Can't wait to here a video or some 0-60 or 1/4 mile times on yours

No marbles. The idler pulley I made did not keep the belt from slipping. Also caused a weird problem. I shredded a couple belts. I really don't get it. The pulley looked perfectly lined up and the belt tracked nicely at idle but as soon as I got into the upper rpms I would get a little slip and then I would lose a rib. The inner rib would just shred right off. My guess is that the belt wandered a little with the way I had it set up.
I need to convert to the LSJ 6 rib belt in order to run the smaller pulley. In the process of acquiring parts.
