My 2011 has the cut outs, do you mean the replacement bushings only? Those have always been solid in the "generic"/after market/non-GM application. AFAIK, not a GM design change, but maybe.

You can leave the engine completely stock if you keep the boost/revs low. If you are revving higher then just springs would be needed. You'd have to dig but somewhere there is info as to the boost/rpm limit of the stock springs. Not sure of cams for the 2.4l anymore. ZZP used to offer them. I would inquire with ZZP about the fitment of their turbo kit in the HHR just to be sure.

Interesting...maybe you are right. I swear there was conversation of this somewhere... or maybe it was just those that changed them only had the solid option. I replaced mine with Moog bushings. The inner sleeve separates from the bushing over time. When I unbolted my control arms to replace them the sleeves just fell right out. The bonds were crappy.

I know there is cams for the 2.4l just have to find the right place. The turbo kit from zzp will fit the hhr with manual transmission which my car has.

I've got about everything you'll need to go turbo. I'm parting out mine; 2006 2.4 turbo built by Hahn Racecraft.

I was also thinking a high pressure fuel pump would be required, but maybe all the piece to the puzzle are there in Mike's parts off Bob!

enough fuel was never an issue, might be when you get closer to 400hp, but that would be the least of your worries then, A tranny upgrade and rear disc conv. would be wise to do before that much power. At least that's what my plan had been.

I think our fuel pump can handle up to 60 lb injectors, maybe 80. I've run 45 myself. The ss needs the high pressure pump to feed the direct injection system, which is not on the 2.2 or 2.4.

Stock pump is able to supply fuel for 80lb inj on e85 ~12lbs of boost(checked an old log) and probably more. You should not come close to the limit on gas.
