Update???

Mike:

Glad you finally got your car back. I can't imaging your frustration over this whole ordeal. You're a saint to have put up with it for soooo long...

But, now that you do have it back, we'd love to hear from you after a suitable re-acquainance period. Once you get over the PTSD give us your impressions and suggestions: performance; cost/HP; worth vs other options; shade tree installation?? etc.

Heep on Hang'in on.

I'll update when I can. Right now there are issues, related directly to the install and unrelated to the actual install, that I'd rather not discuss online at this point.

I can say though that in spite of the issues, it is very powerful and it feels like my nitrous did, but all the time.

Now for the issues..............

Let's see...........3 CEL codes, no "I" or "L" gear, no cruise control, no remote start.

So I can't downshift, my remote start and cruise don't work anymore. 2 of the three codes are related to the tranny, the other is fuel related (running lean).

I'm guessing that most of the problems are related to the BCM. They fried mine during tuning, and didn't have the new one flashed with my VIN# info. Then they turned on traction control when my car doesn't have traction control!

At this point I may just have to find someone local to finish the job right. I have found a local ecotec group and am making contacts through them so I think either way I'll be okay.

This thing will be a beast once I get these things straightened out. None of them are major, just gotta get them done.

Most of it is related to the BCM, likely I'll get a new one flashed to my VIN, then send it off to Tune Time to have them work their magic again. That's the one reason I got my tune from them in the first place, lifetime tunes.

All HHR automatics have traction control ( I thought).

I think that is new. In 06, 1LTs did not have it, but 2LTs did.

Might as well buy the button and use the T/C if you can. You've obviously paid for it now. Sorry to hear they did such a bad job on the tuning. Hopefully you can find a good tuner in STL who has a dyno and knows their way around the software packages. With something one-off like that, I wouldn't trust a canned tune.
