HHR Exhaust
Yeah. Jason n I know all to well about cel's. I know for a fact that anything bigger than a 2 1/2 intake will trip a light. Makes the motor run lean. Plus on the 2.4 it maxs out the injectors.
The exhaust on the other hand is a different story. Any free flowing muffler won't hurt performance. Sounds like he was just trying to sell his product. As you can see GM uses Borla for their's.
Do you guys just don't like it to be loud? If so, just keep a resonator on. Makes the tone nice and deep.

I'm sorry but anyone that says "engines need backpressure" should never be allowed anywhere near giving advice. Backpressure is a byproduct of a "choked up" exhaust and only aids for sound deadening. A free flowing exhaust creates more horses and more torque IF the piping is sized right. Power and torque have more to do with exhaust gas scavenging than backpressure. If engines NEEDED backpressure then why do top fuel dragsters making over 1000 horses run open headers??? 'nuff said? Yeah, I think so!
I agree with the last 2 posts. I was wondering when someone would bring this up.
I can say as a straight matter of fact, when I mentioned and showed a Chevrolet engineer that comment, "needs the right amount of back pressure" he damn near was rolling on the floor with laughter. He personally, wanted to challenge that statement. He was absolutely convinced the statement was made in error and wanted to help clear it up. Alas GM "powers" would not allow it.

Will this one work or do I need one with no offset?
