HPTuned 2.4
I am Sure enomi will get the exact link and part numbers but all you need is specific harnest from the i believe 06 2.2 and the stock injectors from the 2.0L there is a graph floating around about how our (2.4) injectors get to their limit, this is because our 2.4L use the same one as the 2.2L.
Upongame was right on most of his statements. To update your 2.4 Injectors you need a wiring harness from a 06 2.2 COBALT and the STOCK fuel injectors from a SS2.0. The 2.4 uses the same psi on the injector as the 2.2 but they have different plugs. This is why the 2.2 harness is needed, they have the correct plugs for the injectors and the controller. The stock 2.0 does not. I can try and find as many part numbers as I can for you all. I just figured this would be good news for the performance oriented 2.4 owners.
As soon as tuning is available for the 2.2 i'll be right there with ya guys!

I assume a "tune" would be needed after this?
On a scale of easy-to-hard, how would you rate this mod to do? Time, cost?
Good info, am looking forward to more info in swapping injectors. We as HHR owners are a bit behind the Cobalt guys as far as performance mods, but a few of us want to catch up!!! (figureatively and literally)
Yes we are, but we are not forgotten there are many oppurtunities to be a pioneer in, what upsets me is our lack of aftermarket body kits, performance that we are seeing for our cars, The caliber has way more things for it...but...we will see
GDZ... if you can turn a socket wrench you can change the fuel injectors on a 2.4... It is fairly easy for anyone that know not to OVER tighten bolts. They can snap very easily. We did the Cobalt's fuel injectors in a DARK parking lot at 1030pm with nothing more than a socket set. Its that easy! And yes a tune would be needed after switching your injectors out. The stock computer would see the larger injectors but would more than likely throw a CEL (check engine light) due to the difference in the PSI behind them. Without a tune the stock computer would probably flood the engine. With a tune you can expect a WORLD of difference and a MUCH higher rev limit on the 2.4s. The whole head is built to make 7000 rpm shifts and has everything there to make sure this is a usable RPM for the engine. No chance for valve float and the valve springs are awesome! Richie's car actually makes power all the way TO and PAST the redline he has set now! Its a whole different beast! I would strongly reccomend this to ANYONE with a 2.4 since this is what you would call a foundation mod. Meaning that once you have the injectors and a tune you can always up the fuel for cams, header, or even forced induction. The possibilities are endless!
If tune tyme will do your car on the dyno and can make the computer recognize the new injectors then yes. Otherwise see if they can put them in for you. But make sure, and I cannot stress this enough, YOU NEED THE CORRECT WIRING HARNESS!!!!a!n!d!!s!o!m!e!!m!o!r!e!!!!!!!!!!
This sound like my next perfomance mod then.
I've got no way to get to Tune Time though. I'll just have to call Matt there and see what he says. I would think they should be able to do it. Hell this may be a mod they want to do to theirs!!
