Lighter pullies installed -md- HHR this is for you
well i just got finished installing my stock size lightened crank pulley. you can def tell a difference. with no load, the motor does rev quicker. my buddy and i both did a before and after drive n could tell n improvement. now i just need to compliment it with the alt. pulley.

my input on the issue at hand, for the record, ANY weight you take off the engine will make it free up horsepower. 3-4 pounds less of a crank pulley may be sitting still, but what is that 3-4 pounds at higher rpms?
simple example, why do people get lighter wheels/tires? apart from probably being stronger than stock ones, they take off a tremendous amount of
rotational mass. less rotational mass means less load on the engine. less load on the engine means freed up horsepower
another example? take off your a/c compressor and get another belt to compensate for not having one. no a/c compressor = less parts to move = less rotational mass = freeing up more horsepower
Like enOonmaI said, magazines have been proving it for years. look it up instead of doubting it just to doubt it

Hi-especially SSFamily Wagon:
How hard was it to get the old pulley off and new one on? Did you need a lift? Where did you get it? I want desparatly to be the next one here to do the pulleys

i got the pullies, intake (which i listen to nobull about getting airaid not cgs) short shifter, axel back dual exhaust and thats it but please guys remeber there is so much more you can do..header/down pipe/ upgrade your injectors with the proper tune/ port and polish your heads/ you can upgrade your springs/retainers and raise your red line.........these little engines can
56K aaaaaahahahah
Heres some pics from my last group purchase on j-body.

actually it was really easy to change the pulley. i didn't use a lift at all. you just need a floor jack and jack stand. on my car i had to remove the intake to give me room to swing the tool for the belt ten. just removed my pass front tire and loosened the front portion of my wheel well. one bolt holds the pulley on. used my impact for that, and then you could just literally pull it off wit your hands.
