Mine was built in the 9th month
So, the mexicans were gettin' their party on!.....
There are a few things that Ive discovered that arent quite right with my new 08 2LT. Not too bad and I do like the car and well, these things go par with my life. Hell, its laughable.
One discovery was that there were no holes drilled in the valve cover for mounting the CGS I got.
Another was the sunroof not aligned correctly and the dealer wont do anything about it. Again not really big deal items and liveable for sure.
The latest is the DIC and radio illumination. With the dimmer rheostat fully turned to bright, it just wont get bright and if I tap the dimmer, it will brighten and then go back to dim. Pretty sure its the dimmer itself. Seeing that it is intermittent, I need for it to fail before I try and have it replaced.
So, when I get my 09 SS, I will make sure not to buy one built on the 9th and 12th month.

More likely the dimmer came in from the vendor in China or Japan with a bad rheostat in it and the sunroof assembly came in from Webasto or ASC misaligned. However, if the unit still works, I wonder why you're thinking it's misaligned. Believe it or not, the assembly plant does not assemble those parts. Most assembly plants don't even assemble the instrument panels anymore. They put the parts in the car as they come from the vendor and as long as they fit and check out at the assembly plant, the car is good to go.
