So someone with a short fuse who did not have any patients with me when I asked for more info on his build, had a problem with an established/respected aftermarket company who specializes in Turbo conversions on the ecotec?

And said person is one people are feeling sorry for?

Probably stinks to spend all that money and use up a lot of time for little return.

I'm afraid you may not be intimate with everything that has happened. I most certainly don't know all the details. However, I know enough to feel sorry for him and many others affected by the aforementioned situation.

It's a real shame he's not around here much anymore, as Snoopy pointed out, he is sorely missed..

Thought it was time to bring this thread back up...

Monday we got the new boost gauge and the wideband O2 gauge installed. We've got the 60# injectors and the new MAS ready to go.

Tonight we put in the sensor and injectors and start tuning this thing right! My tuner said it should take one maybe two nights. Then I'm gonna dyno it and see where I stand.

That should be enough for now. I'll play this fall & winter and next spring look at installing a boost controller and new valve springs. My goal is still the 350-375hp range. I'm hoping that after the tune, I'll be around 300hp now.

The next step would then be some new tires, a rear disc conversion and eventually rebuilding the transmission. I'm sure I'll figure out something else I wanna do, always a work in progress!

Just to make things VERY clear, Bill Hahn (aka Hahn RaceCraft) has nothing to do with completing this project. There were some serious design and tuning issues as delivered. I will not go into a long detailed list or discussion because I don't want all of the drama to begin again.

But in regards to the hardware, the placement of one of the pipes was so bad that a rubbing issue actually made a hole in the pipe. It had to be slightly reshaped/relocated and the hole welded over.

A couple simple comments on the tune will indicate how incomplete(read as totally f*cked up!) it was: while a catless downpipe was installed, none of the functions to check the cat sensors were disabled. Therefore, constant CELs. A mas was not switched out to one which would actually recognize the boost, the tune was done as though the boost was being recognized so that my a/f ratio was never right. There were other more serious issues. I have been told that i was very lucky not to have blown the motor and still may have done damage to it which will not be apparent until the tuning is done.

Here's a couple pics of the gauge placement.

I am diggin the interior!!! I hope you can get everything worked out and running. Going against the grain always has it's set backs but don't let others deter you from your goal!! Just look at my project going. Since starting it a year and a half ago, three other people have started their's. I bet it helps them to have some money stashed to make more progress than I have. Just keep a positive attitude and prove the naysayers wrong. Hell, Unique Performance stuffed a blown LS2 w/ a 4L60E in their HHR. So the sky is the limit.

Again, great job for doing something that is out of the ordinary and people think can not be done. I will be watching your progress and I hope others do the same!!

So far, so good...

Did about a dozen hard pulls topping out between 115-125. Ran really strong, no major issues. Tuner figures I'm getting between 260-280hp now. I'll put it on a dyno in a couple weeks. Still got some minor adjustments to do. At this point it is obvious that the weak link is my tranny, which I already knew and is in my long range plans to have rebuilt.

So it looks like I'm good until spring. Then I add a boost controller and put on some better gripping tires. Right now I'm reaching 10#, but mostly around 8#. Wanna take that up to 15#. After that it will be time to pull the head for some work and a bigger turbo.
