Phasers

Does anyone now if you have to do anything special with the phasers after you install a new timing chain?

I seem to remember that you need to insure a key is engaged or something.

Here is an interesting tidbit I found while looking:

The VVT difference? Are there pictures referenced as in 2 and 1??

No that was for 2010, both are VVT.

There is another picture link that I cut of for the 2.2L.

I never had a 2.4L so I never looked before.

And now I'm getting confused. 2006 says they are the same; 10 and 2. Same edition of Mitchell.

I know.... I know the 2.2 is in a different time zone on the intake side.

Sorry I just couldn't help myself on that one.

I guess I meant nothing unusual besides setting timing. There is a key on the back of the phasers to lock position on the cams. AFAIK they are all 10 and 2 when using the timing marks. I remember specifically using 10 on my ex and 2 on my int on my LE5 and my LNF. 1 at TDC and you line up the chain with dot on the crank pulley.

This likely changed on current gen Ecotecs. Not sure if the int/exh changed sides on all Ecotecs... Just assuming that.
