Reroute Air Intake

Would rerouting the Wooly Worm on my 2.4 be a bad idea? I have always had this crazy idea of rerouting it to one of the fog hole openings or something.... Just food for thought. Only thing I could think of would be potential water intake in heavy rain but I do not know. Any Thoughts on this? I do have stock air intake system and do not plan on purchasing a kit as the stock system is really not restrictive in my opinion. Mind you I am 24 with some crazy ideas sometimes for Gregg (my HHR) so don't judge me! haha

Many thanks..

IMHO, leave your Wholly Worm right where it is, it's already drawing cool air from the stock location and any gains from the "Ram Air" effect of moving it to the foglight opening would be so miniscule you'd never notice.

I left my wooley worm in the factory spot and added a second opening on the other side of the air box and ran a 3 inch flex tube up to the top of the rad like this

I have often thought about taking a Hillborn scoop and mounting it in my HHR. One like this:

I'd figure out where on the hood it looks best then cut a hole in the hood for the whole scoop to stick out of then cut a hole in the stock air box and put some kind of plumbing in between.

That way I would have a 'shaker' hood just like I had on my '69 Mustang GT. Of course I'd still have a 2.2 ecotech under the scoop and not a 428 Super Cobra Jet but I can dream,...
