Thought my 2.4 was a toad...

My HHR only has the factory floor mats. The idea of cutting a hole under the gas peddle is not new though. In the day we always said 400 hp, 4 on the floor, and holes bored for more,…
When I got my ‘65 Ford Fairlane the column shifter was broken off { which is another long story}, so I put in the cheapest floor shifter I could find. It was a Foxcraft and cost me all of $9.98 {plus shipping from Chicago}
I really did not have a clue as to what I was doing when I installed it. I cut a nice little hole where I wanted it to go but when I actually bolted it on the transmission I had to move the hole back about 6 inches so the hole got much bigger.
Once it was in and working correctly {the first time it shifted upside down so reverse was where first should be} in time I cut up a hood from another Ford and made a hunk to fill the hole in because I got real tired of having snow come in the big hole.
I’ve looked up ‘65 Ford Fairlane’s online and now days they are selling for a lot of money even if they are in as bad of shape as mine was when I boned it. Some have been restored nicely with 289 V8’s and are darn sharp looking just too pricy for me. Mine had the 200ci straight six in it.
