Traction control

I have a 2007 chevy hhr with traction control, but I do not have a button to turn it off. I live on a dirt road and when it rains it's a mud road and traction control can get you stuck in the mud.
Can I install a later model dash piece with the button and wire it up? Or is that not possible?
Please let me know???

On the 07 the only way to turn off the traction control is to have the gear selector in low or reverse.

I have not heard of anyone installing a on off switch.

There was a tip here some time back, about pulling the parking brake on just enough to trip the circuit, but I can't confirm if that actually does work.

Agreed on the getting stuck issue, having encountered the same on an ice covered hairpin driveway years ago. 4 snows with cable chains would only make it by doing a banzai run at the hairpin. Was not fun.

Well I haven't gotten stuck yet, but we have a kia soul that has gotten stuck before and then we found the traction control button, and now it's much less likely.

I still researching things before I do anything because whenever the low traction light comes on, if I give it more gas after it has slowed down it seems to still rev up, but I'm still testing that.
