Perhaps you should go to the HP Tuners Forum and click on the Cobalt/Ecotec section. They have had nothing but NIGHTMARES for several trying to get them tuned - even without aspiration.

The average end user is going to need a bolt-on kit that has a pre-made flash tune (or piggy-back module), if turbo sales are to suceed for HHR's.

Good luck with it!

I believe Alpine is finishing it up this week and all the tuning is done just need to get it to the dyno and have fun :) HPT can be a pain if you don't know what your doing but i use HPT on F-bodies and been tuning since 1993 (old stuff like TunerCats) so that is simple if it was my design i would just include in the kit 4 new injectors and an Extra ECM and swap out the stock ECM with the new ECM with HPT tuned for the kit :)

Sorry yes it is...we had it on a Cobalt w/ 2.4L auto worked out great but tuning was not perfect and the customer had some personal issues and sold the kit not even having it on his car more then a week or 2 but with hp tuners you can tune specific for your needs :) here is the link of that kit....

There is no way that kit will fit the HHR - you would need to remove the windshield washer reservoir/pump/electronics - and a bunch of other stuff (then the computer would throw codes too).

Also, the HHR ECU is different than the Cobalt - it's not the exact same ECU.

Please post the details once you have had the kit mounted on an actual HHR and driven it extensively without code issues. Sounds to me like the Cobalt owner didn't like the driveability...

"worked out great but tuning was not perfect" - this is an oxymoron.

I'll wait...

I have to say I agree with Mike on this. I read the thread in question and the main issue was the tune. This has been the issue from the beginning. No one has been able to get the 2.4 tuned for a turbo or supercharger. Or I guess like Mike said, no one has proof that it has been done on a HHR 2.4.

Don't get me wrong, I hope this happens and once I see REAL results, I'll be one of the first in line!

The HP tuners tune does not support 2-bar for the Ecotecs.

Also, it is n/a only.
