I would be interested in this if you would like to sponsor. I own just about the most custom HHR around that's on a nation wide show tour for GM. If your interested contact me at fear1hhr@msn.com & I can go further into details.

So this is how it all breaks down
a full turbo w/tuning for the HHR Guys, this kit would include turbo manifold (used on the 2.2L cobalts, 2.4L ION's...etc) w/heat shield, Turbo (mitzi) run about 8-9psi (can go as far up to 17psi but not recommended) full piping mandrel bends, Intercooler, Tuning via UNICHIP "Q" (piggy back 5th injector 65#er) and all the hoses and connections needed to install either at your home or at a shop with full instructions...

Would you guys be interested in something like this....?

i am chatting with a gentlemen that might drop is car off and if that is the case might have a full blown "Like Factory" turbo kit for you guys by the beginning of 2007!

Sorry no sponsors at this time...

The turbo kit for the HHR is great fits fine via Alpine Development and no issue's and i know they will have a 2.4 Cobalt done here soon and that being said will apply across the board to all the other 2.4L :)

Also the cool thing about the turbo kit being designed by Alpine is they use the Perfect Power SMT-6 module to control fuel and not only that but to pull timing out and data log :)

its a sick design and love the tuning of the Perfect Power!

We are using this same piggy back system for our ProCharger kits for the 2.2L!

Would love to see some before/after dyno charts, or a link to some youtube video of the testing. How much power does it make? Any issues with the HHR ECU? How do you "pull timing out" of a VVT engine? (*it has a solenoid that basically switches advance all the way in or out).

Interested to hear about real-world driveability on an actual HHR. Please reply with details.

here are the dyno numbers from alpine 206 hp 221 torque @8psi on a 2.2 liter i would imagine the numbers would jump significantly on a 2.4

The 2.2 & 2.4L are completely different engines. The 2.4L has VVT and uses a different ECU than the 2.2.

If someone ever completes a kit that works on the 2.4L, it will be good to see the actual results on that motor (*as of yet, even top tuners have failed to get an aspirated "street legal" 2.4L to run properly). Driveability will be very important, as the 2.4L Ecotec is prone to throwing codes unless intake velocity is within a certain range.

building the kit is the easy part and tuning is based on the customer via HP Tuners...now i do know Alpine Development is going to add SMT-6 on the 2.4L with a 5th injector setup and that will add tuning under WOT and pull timing as needed and wont throw codes as it will be in open loop during WOT pulls...so daily driving will be like stock and WOT runs will be tuned via SMT-6 piggy back....

Thanks
