2006 grill fit on 2007?

I am looking to do the 3 bar/1 bar grill setup on my HHR, there is a junkyard locally that has a 2006 grill in stock that is in great shape. I know it may be a stupid question, but does a 2006 grill fit on a 2007?

Yep, they are all interchangeable. The SS would be the only one you might have difficulty with, but I'm not 100% sure on that one.

Am I missing something? I'm doing the 3 bar from a 5 bar, but are you saying that the 2006 was already a three bar? I have an '09.

No, he just wants a back up in case he FUBAR's the the mod. Standard SOP when hacking up stock parts for a mod. Plus it takes a little time, so no driving around with the fly (catcher) open until done.

I'd be very surprised if someone doesn't start marketing reproductions of this grille. I swore I'd keep mine stock but I would have one of these 3-bar grilles on my car.

Any vendors listening?

There were a few that tried to sell the 3-bar. But most just made their own verses paying for all that labor for somone else to do it.

Well, I thought you guys were on to something. I just jerked mine out (heck, Ray Charles could see how easy it is to take off) and started hacking on it. I have a vision in my head, but translating that to the plastic grill is not easy for me. Fossilized brain matter, and all that.

BTW, don't use a Roto-Zip tool to cut the plastic bars off, especially if you never used a Roto-Zip before. A hand Coping saw followed up with a course file to smooth the burrs and finesse the cut works much better. Please don't ask me how I know this little tidbit.
