I wanted to do the same thing, but it was at work, Upper management wouldn't look too kindly on that I've had the toy since the begining of June. On all three times I had it washed or detailed..not more than 24 hours would pass before it would shower just enough to ruin the job.

And every time I would check the weather forecast the day before...I know, hang the weatherman

 

You might want to try some detailing spray. Just a thought.
