well, finally got around to finishing this today. decided to wrap it with some left over headliner material. the pic looks like the gauges are slightly misaligned, and well they are. that way from the driver's seat they are all pointing at me.

well, i started off by just hot gluing the gauges to the pillar (which i had cut a channel in to make room for the fittings and tubes ). then i covered it with painter's tape, and fiberglassed over it. i popped the fiberglass form from the pillar and gauges. i sanded, then riveted the fiberglass to the pillar. then i molded it all smooth with a mixture of bondo and fiberglass resin ( flows on smooth, and gets very hard ). i intended on mounting the gauges from behind, but they didn't fit after i wrapped it. i like the front mount look better though. all in all, i'm quite satisfied with this project.

Just FYI, I looked into getting custom made 2 and 3 guage fabricated, (what the min order is, etc) and the two shops I contacted said they won't sell them for cars with pillar airbags because of liability concerns.

well, i dont have air bags in the pillars or side curtains. but if you did have air bags, and they went off with a few gauges in the way... uh... yeah... you'd probably have a pressure gauge lodged in your skull ... or somewhere else
