i called up autometer they told me there is alot of people wanting them but they dont want to bother with it because of the air bags. but i did talk to this guy at http://www.gaugepods.com/ he told me that i need to send him a pic of the interior and he could make one he just wants a group buy. he would make it for the center glove box.

Has anyone thought of using the top of the dash glovebox to mount a set of gauges (as in the WRX's and STI's? I'm thinking a dual or trio set up on top of the cover; that way we keep the dash glovebox AND get a set of gauges up there too.

I don't think the HHR has an airbag in the A pillar, there is a factory gauge in the SS...
I have been looking for over a year for a 2 or 3 gauge pod that works in the HHR. I tried some universal gage pods and they DON'T work on the HHR A pillar! So, it looks like we need something made specifically of the HHR. The Colbalt A frame is different as well.

All HHR's have the a-pillar airbag. It is identified by the airbag symbol at the top of the a-pillar. If you look at the picture in post 11 by Lunchbox Maifiaos you can see the emblem at the top of the picture, even though he says he doesn't have it. That is why the aftermarket has not come up with a product. They don't want the liability. On the SS, the tweeter and boost gauge are on the bottom because the airbag deploys in a manner that would fold down from the pillar. I would like the a-pillar pod myself, but don't want a mouthful of gauge in the event the airbag deployed. If you look at some of Chevy's picture of the HHR airbags deployed you can see it.
