Anyone have Rolled Visor problems?

I had my body shop install the rolled visor and a week later drove about 80 miles and 1 mile before my exit the center part of the visor came loose!
Had to slow down to about 40 on the interstate or I would have lost it.
I called my body shop and they told me they thought it was a bad idea to use the silicone, they said they thought it would not hold (don't call me and tell me just let it go!).
They suggested I call Auto Glass Specialists and have them use the urethane they use for the window sealing. They came out took off the visor cleaned it and reistalled it and it worked great (so far!) and only charged me $20.00!!
I let the car sit for 36 hours (thank goodness I was on a long weekend getwaway!) and had no problems since.
I think my body shop goofed when installing the visor, they had to notch out an area to fit around the antenna base. I think that might have the visor tilt up a little to much and that causes too much air to get under the visor and it also has less space for the air to escape on top.

Never heard anyone saying this was needed.

I didn't think that was right either. I am going to call them and tell them if it need to be notched it would have come that way. I think I will make them replace it and do it over. I even printed out (in color) the detail instructions from the SoCal Cruiser website!

We didn't need to notch the visor, and the silicone has held up just fine on the center foot. Been on there for 6-8 months now at least.

They may have not cleaned the window well enough, or used enough, or something. Not sure. Great mural on the back by the way, looks very nice.

THANKS!

Looks like the body shop will need to replace the visor and do it right! I am sure they will not be happy about that but they had the instructions. It did not seem like it was set on there correctly, the front of the foot was up a little. It looked like the visor was tilted up too much.

My luck that they would screw it up! Figured they could slip it by a women! Not a chance!

If the visor is installed the right way and let to set for 24 hours it works great. I have had Harvey up to 100 and no problem. You might want to look at the instructions again.

See ya down the road

I just thought of something that will cause this problem. There is a piece of paper on the center support and if that is not removed so the raw center is showing you will just be siliconing the paper and trusting the glue on the paper to hold the visor on. Check to see that all was done properly.

See ya down the road

There was no paper on the foot, I just think the installment was incorrect, seeing they had to make a notch for the antenna. It set for at least 48 hours. Poor workman ship on the body shop part of it.
